Yesterday, the Timoney School of Irish Dancers performed for us at Blue Bell Place. The dancer’s got us into the Irish spirit with choreographed dances and a sing-along.

Residents competed in an Olympic tournament today. The day began with an opening ceremony, an obstacle course and ladderball. We then finished off with winter Olympic bingo, cornhole and the closing ceremony. Congratulations to all of the gold, silver and bronze medalists!
This Valentine’s Day the residents at Blue Bell Place celebrated love with aromatherapy, hand massages, chocolates and live music.
Community Life and Dining Services have come together to create an extraordinary ambience during lunch and dinner. Once a month, the community will hold a themed lunch or dinner. Bill and Mary celebrated their 69th anniversary together yesterday at our wine and cheese tasting!
Our Watermark University class, the Giving Groupies, created homemade dog biscuits from scratch. These dog treats were donated to the local SPCA. We of course saved a batch for our therapy dog, Luca, as well! Every month the Giving Groupies spread cheer to our local community through different projects.
Todd and his therapy dog, Luka, spread love throughout the community numerous times a month. Luka sure knows how to get the residents at Blue Bell Place to smile.
Blue Bell Place kicked off the holiday season with a wonderful party filled with food, cocktails, music and most importantly our loved ones. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us! Have a happy and healthy new year!

The residents at Blue Bell Place had a wonderful time at Peddlers Village. We ate a delicious lunch at Buttonwood Grill, followed by a stroll through Peddlers Village’s scarecrow exhibit.
Last Thursday we gathered all of our friends and family for our end of summer Hawaiian luau. We enjoyed an abundance of island cuisine and danced the night away to tropical tunes. Sending a warm thank you to everyone who made our summer luau a warm and sunny one!
Yesterday we packed our sunglasses and flip flops and traveled to Ocean City. We had a blast soaking up the sun and walking on the boardwalk.

This summer we were visited by an amazing group of musically talented young kids from the Wissahickon Summer Pop Orchestra. These kids had us wanting more as they performed various works in celebration of America, famous musicals and popular modern day songs.

This month we had a blast celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! We sang and danced along with a wonderful musical entertainer. We enjoyed delicious green beer and Irish inspired snacks. To end the afternoon, we laughed along to the jokes by one of our very own Irish Comedians.
This month we learned how to make our own personal pizzas. We made the pizza dough from scratch using a bread maker, learned a new pizza sauce recipe guided by our resident Ada and experimented with various toppings. Once we were done, we all gathered together to eat our delicious homemade pizza.
We celebrated the 1920’s this month with a Great Gatsby Themed Party! We had Champagne, sparkling cider, hors d’oeuvres and wonderful musical entertainment.

Last week, our Pathways Memory Care residents got into the holiday baking mood! We made delicious chocolate covered pretzels shaped like Christmas trees and candy canes. Once they were all done, we enjoyed dipping them in hot chocolate. Nothing says the holidays like a little hot chocolate.
Our Blue Bell Place Decorating Committee really decked the halls this month with beautiful holiday decorations. They worked hard creating sparkling wreaths and shinny ornaments. Together we decorated the trees while singing Christmas carols and enjoying a nice cup hot cocoa.
This year our woodworking class is building for charity! Our residents decided they would like to give back this holiday season by building a box that will hold gifts for donation to underprivileged children. Everyone is very excited to come together for such a great cause.
In celebration of Veterans Day, we honored our beloved Veterans in a special traditional pinning ceremony. The ceremony began with an introductory speech made by Master Sgt. Christopher Botzum. This week our Pathways residents enjoyed a delicious pizza for lunch at Mr. P’s Pizza in Blue Bell. We had a wonderful time laughing and joking with each other. Thank you Mr. P’s Pizza for helping to make this a day to remember!
This month we had a blast at Fascenda Whitaker Lanes, where we bowled the afternoon away. We had two teams, men vs. women, competing to see who would be the bowling champs. The competition was close but in the end the women took it with a combined bowling score of 327 to 270.
We had a great time this month in Holly’s Dancing in Chairs class. The music was loud, people were singing and we all joined in to move and groove!
This summer we decided to take an exciting trip down the Delaware River on the Spirit Cruise of Philadelphia. We learned about some of Philadelphia’s water history while enjoying a delicious lunch and wonderful musical entertainment. We couldn’t have asked for a better day!
